What You'll Do:


Take ownership of precision machining operations that support Pelican's high-performance products. As a Machinist III, you will program, set up, and operate CNC and manual machines to produce critical components that meet exact specifications and quality standards.



  • Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines using machine drawings and blueprints.
  • Develop and modify CNC programs and subroutines based on geometry, tolerances, and production requirements.
  • Select proper tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies to ensure efficient and accurate production.
  • Set up and operate manual machines, including Bridgeport-type equipment, to produce precision parts.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to manufacture components to required specifications.
  • Maintain precise tolerances using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Perform secondary operations such as deburring and finishing as needed.
  • Monitor machining processes and make adjustments to ensure product quality and consistency.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Support and mentor junior machinists and machine operators by sharing technical knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate production records and ensure compliance with Pelican quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, company policies, and operational procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support production goals.
  • 2ndShift Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2pm - 10:15am Eastern Time



What We're Looking For:



  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining and manual machining experience.
  • Ability to program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications.
  • Strong experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Ability to maintain tight tolerances and produce high-quality precision components.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage machining projects with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members and supervisors.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • CNC programming experience using various programming methods and processors.
  • Experience with Bridgeport-type machines and manual machining operations.
  • Experience mentoring or training machinists or machine operators.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

What you may be doing:



  • Actively supports and complies with Pelican's objectives, guidelines and commitment to Quality and Safety, with an emphasis on continual improvement.
  • Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels
  • Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager
  • Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime. Must be able to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • This position requires repetitive hand and wrist activities.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across severalU.S. geographic markets. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The annual U.S. pay range for this positionis listed below. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on your qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
