Overview

Waters Materials Science Division (TA Instruments) is looking for a dynamic, hands-on Events Manager to join our Americas Commercial Marketing team. In this individual contributor role, you'll take the lead on planning, coordinating, and executing tradeshows, seminars, and customer-focused events that bring our brand and technology to life.

We're looking for someone who loves creating exceptional event experiences - someone who is collaborative, highly organized, and naturally proactive. If you enjoy solving problems on the fly, managing timelines and budgets with confidence, and working closely with vendors and internal teams to make every detail count, you'll thrive here.

Responsibilities

Own the full lifecycle of planning tradeshows, seminars, and regional events, overseeing concept development, scheduling, strategy, execution, and post-event evaluation.
  • Partner with Marketing teams, Product Management, and Sales to define event objectives, KPIs, target audiences, key messaging, booth experience, and pre-/during-/post-show marketing plans and follow up activities.
  • Ensure all event elements, marketing materials, and content comply with Waters' brand standards and meet relevant local regulatory requirements.
  • Manage comprehensive event logistics including registration, shipping, materials, booth properties, staffing schedules, travel accommodations, and onsite execution.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for all vendors, venues, and event partners; negotiate contracts, manage relationships, and secure services that meet quality expectations and budget restraints.
  • Oversee the development and production of event assets, including signage, printed collateral, giveaways, and demo materials.
  • Provide clear, proactive communication around timelines, responsibilities, and milestones to ensure stakeholders remain aligned and engaged throughout the planning process.
  • Independently forecast, track, and reconcile event budgets, optimizing spend and ensuring events are executed within approved financial parameters.
  • Develop detailed post-event recaps that summarize performance results, ROI, attendee engagement insights, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Research emerging event trends, technologies, and best practices; propose innovative ideas to enhance event strategy and drive adoption of new approaches.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience designing and executing events within a corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in event marketing and project management, with familiarity in integrated marketing tactics that support events (traditional, digital, and communications).
  • Experience planning and managing a broad range of event types, including tradeshows, conferences, virtual events, sponsorship activations, and customer/sales meetings.
  • Ability to travel for onsite event support (approximately 15%), including occasional weekend travel.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with the materials science or life sciences industry (not required).

Core Skills and Attributes:

  • Ability to take ownership of a complex event portfolio and independently manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
  • Proactive problem-solver who anticipates challenges and develops effective solutions.
  • Proficiency with event management tools, CRM/marketing automation platforms, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information, timelines, and expectations to internal teams and external vendors.
  • Collaborative, energetic team player with the agility to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
