Overview

Provide direction and support to Lending leadership to solve complex issues and support significant strategic initiatives. Serve as a consultant and advisor to executives regarding the development and execution of the overall strategy roadmap. Implement planning and clear, repetitive processes to assist in tracking strategic capabilities and to identify, analyze and make better strategic decisions. Work is performed under general direction.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership at all levels within the business unit; help establish the strategic plan as well as regularly review gaps in strategic goals and initiatives
  • Facilitate and participate in regular strategy planning sessions with goal, enterprise, and sub-initiative owners to maintain alignment of strategic objectives, targets, and initiatives
  • Work with leadership to establish SMART Goals to equip team members to lead, participate in and implement change to meet desired business outcomes
  • Play the part of "friendly challenger" to goal and initiative owners and offer candid and objective opinions and ideas regarding strategic choices and implementation approach driven by both experience and fact-based analysis
  • Coach and provide support to leaders in carrying out strategic initiatives
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration by identifying opportunities for teams to work together across initiatives and across business lines by communicating knowledge and strategy initiatives to business units
  • Conduct internal and external analysis to identify potential opportunities to aid in strategic decision making
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of industry trends and best practices to support strategic initiatives
  • In collaboration with business owners, identify value drivers, synthesize findings, prepare presentations, and make recommendations to improve strategies and processes
  • Direct, lead and support teams by developing and coordinating work plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and training for strategic planning events and initiatives
  • Lead business needs/impact assessments and align with strategy objectives
  • Evaluate and measure effectiveness of internal strategy and activities
  • Serve as resource for the resolution of complex and/or unique problems
  • Identify, escalate and/or resolve issues as appropriate
  • Lead, guide, and mentor lower level team members
  • Prepare, create, provide, and present strategy presentations and status reports to management and executive leadership
  • Maintain and archive strategy documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as a strategy practitioner well versed in theory and tools of strategy formulation as well as practical implementation of strategy within a complex organization
  • Extensive experience in planning and implementing and tracking strategic goals or other types of goal-setting frameworks
  • Strong track record of tracking progress against goals, managing deliverables, and ensuring commitments are met.
  • Extensive experience in implementing strategic initiatives to support organizational objectives
  • Extensive slide deck creation required: extensive experience creating highimpact, executiveready presentations that translate complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Proven ability to thrive in ambiguous, nonprescriptive environments by translating highlevel concepts into concrete, endtoend execution.
  • Extensive experience in presenting findings, conclusions, and strategic roadmaps clearly and concisely to stakeholders, management, and executive leadership
  • Extensive experience in demonstrating thought-leadership, initiative taking, decision-making and creativity in solving business problems
  • Significant experience in driving change management and influencing organizational culture and values
  • Extensive experience in leading collaborative work teams
  • Extensive experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment
  • Significant experience in delivering presentations to virtual and in person teams
  • Extensive experience in leading, guiding, and mentoring others
  • Significant experience in working with all levels of staff, management, and vendors
  • Expert skill leading with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate assertiveness and persistence as well as influencing and building consensus with business partners
  • Expert skill in being adaptive/flexible; acquire, recognize and apply new information
  • Expert organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Advanced project management skills (e.g., Agile)
  • Expert problem solving, collaboration, critical thinking, team building, and presentation skills
  • Expert verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Expert skill in the use of MS Office Products (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • Expert knowledge of Navy Federal functions, philosophy, operations, and organizational objectives
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related field
