How you will make an impact

The Associate Director, Human Resources supports assigned functional organization(s) in a Business Partner capacity while overseeing the day-to-day management of HR operations at a manufacturing facility, working closely with site leadership to implement strategic HR initiatives that foster organizational growth and support the company's long-term objectives. The Associate Director, Human Resources provides leadership coaching; pulls thru strategic initiatives; and provides counsel on recruiting, pay, benefits, and leave of absence scenarios while enforcing company policies and practices through a multitude of Employee Relations responsibilities. This role delivers results through collaboration with onsite and cross-site colleagues and senior leadership within and outside of HR.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Provide strategic insights into and pull-through execution of HR and business strategies and talent initiatives

  • Promote a positive work environment by maintaining a strong company culture through accessible and visible onsite HR consultation and support

  • Bridge management and Employee Relations by investigating concerns and working toward resolutions that positively impact the workplace

  • Administer recruiting processes such as interviewing, onboarding, and new employee orientation

  • Partner with leadership on strategizing site-based recruiting and training initiatives

  • Ensure legal compliance throughout HR management, staying current with changing state and federal employment laws and regulations

  • Refer Wage & Hour scenarios to Subject Matter Experts and partner on resolutions as necessary

  • Consult with management on performance and employee development

  • Provide decision support through HR metrics

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field with at least 10 years of HR experience (An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered)

  • Experience providing HR support toward Exempt and Non-Exempt employee populations in a manufacturing or production environment

  • Excellent partnering skills, including active listening and consultation with ability to positively impact interpersonal relationships at all levels of the site

  • Ability to remain measured and balanced when facing complex or ambiguous scenarios

  • Strong knowledge of Minnesota state and federal labor laws and Employee Relations best practices

  • Experience leading investigations into workplace misconduct and employee concerns

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to provide onsite HR support of manufacturing operations Monday - Thursday

  • Ability to learn Workday HRIS system and adhere to record retention practices

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite for presentations, communications, and analysis

The most likely base pay range for this position is $154K - $215K per year. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individual's exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation at Halozyme. Total compensation could include bonuses, sales incentives, and equity awards.
