The Senior Director of Finance for Pharmaceutical Sourcing is a senior finance leadership role accountable for sourcingrelated financial performance and decision support across branded and biosimilar products. This role leads a sourcing finance team responsible for buyside modeling, pricing event analytics, and commercial deal economics, and serves as a primary finance partner to Brand Sourcing, Commercial Finance, and FP&A. The role provides executiveready insights, scenario analysis, and recommendations that directly influence sourcing strategy, pricing decisions, and enterprise financial outcomes.

Responsibilities

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a highperforming sourcing finance team, including hiring, performance management, career development, and succession planning.

  • Establish clear priorities, operating cadence, modeling standards, and quality controls to ensure accurate and timely analysis.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and strong crossfunctional partnership.

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Serve as the primary finance partner to Brand Sourcing leadership, while ensuring close alignment with Commercial Finance and Strategy on assumptions and performance measurement.

  • Provide a consolidated financial view of sourcing actions, pricing strategy, and commercial execution impacts to senior leadership.

  • Lead crossfunctional working sessions to align key drivers (e.g., buyside rates, mix, contract terms) and resolve analytical or assumption differences.

Buyside Modeling & Deal Economics

  • Own inflation/deflation modeling, scenario analysis, and risk/opportunity quantification by product, supplier, and portfolio segment.

  • Lead financial evaluation of brand and biosimilar pricing events, including impacts to margin, customer economics, contract performance, and demand/mix.

  • Project pricing event timing and impact and integrate outcomes into forecasts and plans.

  • Provide negotiationready deal economics (margin waterfalls, sensitivities, risk ranges, alternatives) to support sourcing and commercial negotiations.

FP&A Forecasting

  • Own sourcing finance inputs into longrange planning and monthly forecasting in partnership with FP&A.

  • Develop and govern driverbased forecasts for mix and buyside rates, ensuring transparency and traceability.

  • Improve forecast accuracy through standardized templates, KPIs, and variance routines.

Finance Transformation & Analytics

  • Act as a change agent supporting finance transformation initiatives.

  • Drive automation to improve the speed, accuracy, and scalability of buyside modeling and deal economics.

  • Partner with Data & Technology teams to develop automated data pipelines and standardized data models.

  • Translate complex economics into executive dashboards and decision tools (e.g., Power BI).

Executive Communication

  • Lead highimpact ad hoc analyses related to supplier strategy, pricing actions, and contract alternatives.

  • Prepare and deliver executivelevel presentations with clear recommendations.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA/CPA preferred)

  • 12+ years of progressive finance experience with people leadership responsibility

  • Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and deal economics expertise

  • Strong executive communication and influencing skills

  • SQL/Power BI/Databricks modeling experience

  • Experience in branded pharmaceutical or healthcare manufacturer economics

  • Direct experience partnering with Pricing and Commercial Finance teams

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of various financial management principles, financial statement analysis, business law, plan development, productivity and profitability analysis

  • Ability to implement and support an enterprise-wide financial planning tool

  • Excellent knowledge of Excel

  • Excellent knowledge of Essbase required

  • Excellent knowledge of Hyperion Planning preferred

  • Demonstrates initiative and has a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and shifting priorities

  • Strong spreadsheet and general ledger skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills

  • Excellent problem solving skills and sound judgment

  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail

  • Understanding of policies, philosophy, goals and objectives in order to affect financial oversight in protecting the company's assets

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
