Job Overview
The Ophthalmic Tech - Certified will be responsible for conducting technical and administrative patient support activities that assist the professional staff (Ophthalmologist, Orthoptist, Residents, etc.) in administering the healthcare and support needed for patients and families in the outpatient ophthalmic clinic. The Ophthalmic Tech will work under the Children's Hospital Colorado professional and behavior standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Simulation Setup and Operation: Prepare and set up simulation equipment, including manikins, medical devices, and audio-visual systems. Operate simulation equipment during training sessions to ensure realistic scenarios. Creative and detail-oriented with simulation moulage or makeup/costuming for manikins.
- Scenario Development: Collaborate with healthcare educators to develop simulation scenarios that meet specific learning objectives. Modify and update simulation scenarios based on feedback and changes in medical practices. Programing scenarios with attention to detail and realism in simulation-related software
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students during simulation activities. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to simulation or facility equipment.
- Maintenance and Calibration: Conduct regular maintenance and calibration of simulation equipment to ensure functionality and accuracy. Coordinate with vendors for equipment repairs and updates.
- Training and Orientation: Conduct training sessions for faculty and staff on the proper use of simulation equipment. Orient learners to the simulation center and provide guidance during simulations. Keeps current for simulation best practices and innovation and shares effectively with team.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of simulation scenarios, equipment usage, and maintenance activities. Maintain day to day supply inventory and document in electronic inventory system.

- Required:Two (2) years of experience in healthcare.

Salary Information Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Hourly Range: $22.42 to $33.63
