In the community, TDOC supervises 79,000 offenders on probation, parole, or community corrections. The department operates 44 probation/parole offices in 13 districts across the state. The Tennessee Department of Correction operates safe and secure facilities and provides effective community supervision in support of successful reentry. Job Overview: The Senior Correctional Compliance Specialist assists with the coordination of contract audits and provides supervisory support for the Contract Monitoring division within the Office of Inspector General (OIG). Duties and responsibilities include conducting contract monitoring audits of all correctional facilities, to include privately managed facilities, preparing and reviewing compliance reports, and conducting follow-up audits to ensure findings are corrected. Additionally, the Senior Correctional Compliance Specialist assists in reviewing and developing inspection instruments used to monitor compliance. This position reports directly to the Audit Director 1 Contract Monitoring. Key Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to five years of correctional work, including at least three years' experience as an audit team lead and/or supervisory experience. Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying full-time professional or paraprofessional correctional experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of four years. OR 7 years of compliance or auditing experience in correctional facilities or pro-grams, including at least three years' experience as an audit team lead.
