The Opportunity

QuidelOrtho unites the strengths of Quidel Corporation and Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, creating a world-leading in vitro diagnostics company with award-winning expertise in immunoassay and molecular testing, clinical chemistry and transfusion medicine. We are more than 6,000 strong and do business in over 130 countries, providing answers with fast, accurate and consistent testing where and when they are needed most - home to hospital, lab to clinic.

Our culture puts our team members first and prioritizes actions that support happiness, inspiration and engagement. We strive to build meaningful connections with each other as we believe that employee happiness and business success are linked. Join us in our mission to transform the power of diagnostics into a healthier future for all.

The Role

At QuidelOrtho, we're advancing the power of diagnostics for a healthier future for all. Join our mission as our next Internal Communications Manager. This role shapes how information moves across the company. This role turns strategy into language people read, understand, and act on. The work sits at the intersection of leadership intent, employee experience, and business priorities, and it matters more than most teams admit. This role owns the rhythm of internal storytelling, from executive messages to the weekly global company newsletter, and brings coherence to how employees experience change, progress, and culture across regions and functions.

This position will be a hybrid position with onsite in San Diego, CA.

The Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy aligned to business goals and cultural priorities

  • Define channel strategy, messaging frameworks, and editorial calendars across email, intranet, events, and collaboration platforms, including TEAMS

  • Anticipate communication needs tied to transformation, growth, or organizational change

  • Write, edit, and produce internal communications, including executive messages, organizational updates, presentations, videos, and intranet content

  • Manage, curate, and distribute the weekly global newsletter, including content planning, contributor coordination, editing, and performance tracking

  • Translate complex business information into clear, relevant, and human communications without over-polishing the truth

  • Partner closely with HR, senior leadership, and functional teams to align messaging with business priorities

  • Advise leaders on tone, timing, and channel selection for employee communications

  • Act as a strategic thought partner during moments that require clarity more than volume

  • Own and optimize internal communication channels, including SharePoint, Teams, email platforms, and social tools, to create employee ambassadors

  • Maintain editorial standards and consistency across platforms while allowing for voice and context

  • Evolve channel usage based on employee behavior, not habit

  • Support initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, trust, and connection

  • Contribute to the narrative of who the company is becoming, not just what it is doing

  • Balance transparency with discretion. This is not a broadcast role

  • Track engagement, readership, and effectiveness across channels

  • Use data and feedback to refine content, cadence, and approach

  • Share insights with leadership that inform future communication decisions

  • Drafting and coordinating announcements

  • Planning and supporting company-wide events such as town halls and leadership updates

  • Supporting communications for change initiatives, restructures, and business milestones

  • Performs other duties and projects assigned

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think beyond individual messages

  • Experience working directly with senior leaders and executive teams

  • Fluency with modern internal communication platforms and digital tools

  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort operating in ambiguity
