Exciting Opportunity at MSK: The Anesthesia Pain Service at MSK Nassau is seeking a part-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to provide comprehensive pain management care to adult oncology patients in the outpatient setting. The APP will function with a high level of autonomy, delivering evidence-based care for patients experiencing acute and chronic pain related to cancer and cancer treatments.

Role Overview:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments of adult oncology patients with acute and chronic pain conditions

  • Develop, implement, and manage individualized pain treatment plans

  • Prescribe and manage pharmacologic therapies, including opioid and non-opioid regimens

  • Evaluate and adjust multimodal pain management strategies in collaboration with attending physicians

  • Provide patient and family education regarding pain management plans and expectations

  • Document all patient encounters, treatment plans, and communications accurately and timely in the Epic electronic medical record system

  • Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal prescribing and documentation regulations

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary oncology teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care

  • Function independently within scope of practice while maintaining collaboration with attending pain physicians

Key Qualifications:

  • Current New York State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

  • Board certification in specialty area

  • Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program

  • Experience in pain management, anesthesia, oncology, or acute care preferred

  • Proficiency in Epic electronic medical record documentation preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex patients independently

  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Additional Information:

  • Location: MSK Nassau,1101 Hempstead Tpke, Uniondale, NY 11553

  • Hours: Two (2) 10-hour shifts per week (Monday-Friday); no weekends or holidays.

  • Reporting to:Manager, APP

Pay Range: $82,933 - $105,280/annually (part-time, 20 hours/week)
