Department Overview

The position willresidewithin PG&E's Strategy and Innovation organization on our Strategic Services team.PG&E's Strategic Services team leads the development ofour 10-year enterprise transformation strategy (True North Strategy"TNS"), co-creates and supports strategy and policy initiatives related toourenergy system and decarbonization, and incubates emerging business opportunities. With PG&E's core values of serving our planet and delivering for our hometowns at heart, the team assesses cross-functional and line of business-specific industry trends and opportunities, provides internal consulting to support functional area strategy development and performance improvement, and leads high-profile utility initiatives.

Position Summary

We are looking for a corporate strategy Principal to help shape thelong-termdirection of our electric and gas utility business as the industry undergoes rapid transformation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys tackling complex,system levelchallenges, from grid modernization and financial growth to regulatory strategy and customer energy solutions.Weare looking forsomeone with both an internal and external perspectiveas our operating environment is changingdramaticallyand our internal capabilities need to evolve to meet the moment. Youwill partner with leaders across operations, finance, regulatory affairs, and customer programs to evaluate opportunities, assess risks, and support initiatives that strengthen the reliability, affordability, and sustainability of our energy services.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The preferred work location is Oakland, CA.

PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be between the minimum and the midpointof the range. Thefinal decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above.This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Bay Area Minimum: $140,000.00

Bay Area Midpoint: $189,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $238,000.00

Job Responsibilities

  • BusinessPartnership andCollaboration:Interact with other departments to collect and communicate strategic findings andguidestrategy development across the organization.Preparehigh quality materialsto beused for presentationsto senior PG&E leadershipand for use with external stakeholders.
  • Quantitative Analysis and Insight Generation:Analyze financial,operating, customer and market data toidentifyperformance trends,risksand opportunities relevant to PG&E's strategy development and execution. Develop infographics and document insights from data to stimulate meaningful discussion and decision-making by colleagues and company leadership. Perform ad hocanalysesin support of cross-functional efforts as a representative of the strategy team.
  • Business Process Design and Support:Informed by quantitative and qualitative analyses, develop new process designs to address targeted strategic opportunitiesidentifiedby the team. Actively coordinate cross-functionally and with PG&Es program management organizations to support the execution of strategies and impact assessments.
  • Facilitate and LeadStrategic Initiatives:Play an integral role in guiding the strategy development and planning process byfacilitatingexternal benchmarking and breakthrough thinking approaches among PG&E experts and leadership. Help pressure test business unit strategies and ensure effective coordination across strategic efforts by managing engagement, communications andfacilitatingintra-company collaboration.
  • Capability Leadership and Mentorship:Be recognized increasingly as a functional and subject matter expert who proactively mentors and trains coworkers on quantitative tools and concepts to help them gain a deeper understanding and engagement with emerging best practices.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Sociology, Policy, Engineering, Physics or other related fields or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive job-related experience
