Job Summary

The Head of Security Strategic Services & Solutions is a senior security leader responsible for defining, integrating, and advancing enterprise security capabilities across operations, engineering, risk, compliance, network security, and identity services domains. This role partners directly with peer leaders across Modern Security Operations, Security Engineering, Network Security, Physical Security, Risk & Compliance, Controls, and Identity & Access Management (IAM) delivery practices to drive a unified, forward-looking security strategy aligned with business priorities.

This leader combines deep industry awareness, strategic thinking, and solution architecture expertise to ensure the services delivery organization adopts best-in-class security capabilities, leverages leading vendors effectively, and anticipates emerging threats and regulatory trends.

What you will do

1. Enterprise Security Strategy & Integration

  • Develop and maintain a multi-year security services and solutions roadmap aligned with enterprise risk and digital transformation objectives, working closely with the Global Security Strategy Office.
  • Ensure strategic alignment across:
    • Modern Security Operations (SOC, XDR, threat detection & response)
    • Security Engineering & Architecture
    • Network Security (Zero Trust, segmentation, SASE, cloud network controls)
    • Risk, Compliance & Controls (GRC, regulatory adherence, audit readiness)
    • Identity & Access Management (IAM, PAM, CIAM, identity governance)
  • Identify capability gaps and lead cross-functional initiatives to mature security posture.

2. Strategic Partner to Security Domain Leaders

  • Act as a peer advisor and strategic integrator across security domains.
  • Facilitate collaboration between operational and engineering teams to reduce silos.
  • Ensure controls, identity, network, and detection strategies work cohesively.
  • Support security leaders in evaluating new technologies, architecture decisions, and transformation programs.
  • Assist sales and presales as an industry expert for complex customer security solutions.

3. Industry & Market Intelligence

  • Maintain deep awareness of:
    • Emerging cyber threats and adversary trends
    • Evolving regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS, Zero Trust frameworks)
    • Modern security operating models and automation trends
  • Track leading security vendors and innovators across:
    • Detection & Response (e.g., CrowdStrike, Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, SentinelOne)
    • Network Security & SASE (e.g., Palo Alto, Zscaler, Cisco, Fortinet)
    • Identity & Access Management (e.g., Okta, Microsoft Entra, SailPoint, CyberArk)
    • Cloud Security & CNAPP (e.g., Wiz, Prisma Cloud, Lacework)
    • GRC & Controls Platforms
  • Provide executive insights and recommendations on vendor strategy, platform consolidation, and investment priorities.

4. Solution Design & Portfolio Governance

  • Lead evaluation and design of enterprise security solutions.
  • Ensure architectural coherence across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments.
  • Drive standardization of tools, integration strategies, and automation.
  • Establish KPIs and maturity metrics to measure capability effectiveness.

5. Executive Engagement & Communication

  • Translate complex security topics into business-aligned risk narratives.
  • Present strategy updates and investment cases to executive leadership.
  • Contribute to board-level security briefings where appropriate.
  • Partner with Delivery, Sales, and Presales leaders to prioritize initiatives as well as key Security vendors.

6. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Evaluate emerging technologies such as AI-driven security analytics, identity-centric security models, and automation platforms.
  • Promote DevSecOps, Zero Trust, and secure-by-design principles.
  • Champion continuous improvement in detection speed, control effectiveness, and identity governance

What we expect of you

  • Bachelors of Business, Accounting, MIS, Cybersecurity, or related field of study and 10+ years of experience in professional services or VAR organization with demonstrated track record of revenue growth and evolving delivery capabilities while successfully partnering with delivery professionals, channel partners, sellers and solution architects OR 14+ years of experience in professional services or VAR organization with demonstrated track record of revenue growth and evolving delivery capabilities while successfully partnering with delivery professionals, channel partners, sellers and solution architects
  • 3+ experience managing, leading and/or delivering professional services or consulting teams
  • 2+ years in cybersecurity
  • Experience working with customer C-Suite and Board Members (CRO, CAE, CFO, CIO, CTO, CISO, GC)
  • Demonstrated track record of leading and growing teams and developing talent.
  • Player/coach mentality.
  • Understands quantitative and qualitative risk analysis and risk exposures underlying common security frameworks, standards and compliance regulations
  • Experience working on complex projects and business challenges.
  • Strategic thinker with enterprise mindset
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills
  • Ability to influence without direct authority
  • Data-driven decision maker with commercial acumen
  • Balances innovation with risk management discipline
  • Ability to be an evangelist for CDW customers and serve according to CDW's values.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Experience at large professional services and/or Big 4 consulting firm(s), VARs, financial services, or security consulting services firm a plus

Pay range: $ 137,000- $ 190,360, depending on experience and skill set
Annual bonus target of 35% subject to terms and conditions of plan
