Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support Federal projects and Department of Energy (DOE) clients by providing technical coordination, engineering oversight, and project execution support. This role serves as a bridge between engineering disciplines, project management, and stakeholders to ensure technical requirements, schedules, and deliverables are met throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Provide technical support and coordination across engineering disciplines for Federal and DOE-related projects.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure engineering deliverables align with project milestones.
  • Coordinate technical inputs, drawings, specifications, and documentation across internal teams and external partners.
  • Track engineering action items, risks, and technical issues and support resolution efforts.
  • Review engineering deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Support scope development, change management, and technical evaluations.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and project status updates.
  • Interface with project managers, engineers, vendors, and clients to support successful project execution.
  • Assist with construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and closeout activities as required.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Federal, DOE, and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering or related discipline).
  • 3-10 years of engineering experience supporting technical or project-based environments.
  • Experience coordinating engineering tasks, deliverables, and schedules.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge of project execution processes, including scope, schedule, and risk management.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience working in regulated, industrial, or infrastructure environments.
  • Successful drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including leadership on complex or large-scale projects.
  • Experience supporting Federal, DOE, or other government agency projects.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and coordinating multi-discipline efforts.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and project controls.
  • Experience managing technical scope, change control, and risk mitigation.
  • Ability to serve as a technical point of contact for clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Familiarity with safety-critical or highly regulated project environments.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.

Location/Work Arrangement:

  • Onsite in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
  • Schedule is full-time, Monday - Friday 40-hour week.
