Description

Markon's partner company is seeking an experienced senior-level Software Engineer to design and develop scalable analytics solutions in support of mission-critical challenges for the Fort Meade Customer. This role partners closely with data scientists and mission analysts to transform advanced analytics into operational tools that drive discovery and enhance tradecraft.

The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and has strong experience building production-ready big data and analytics applications.



Responsibilities

Mission-Focused Engineering

    Collaborate directly with data scientists and mission analysts to solve complex strategic problems
  • Perform end-to-end software engineering activities, including prototyping, development, integration, testing, and deployment
  • Operationalize data science solutions within the customer's enterprise architecture
  • Develop innovative analytic tools that scale to large data environments

Technical Development

  • Build and maintain scalable analytics using tools such as Jupyter Notebooks, Java MapReduce, and Python PySpark
  • Apply statistical analysis and machine learning fundamentals to support analytic development
  • Work within large-scale data architectures, ensuring efficient data flow and integration
  • Utilize Agile development methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and GitLab


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 11+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Strong experience with:
    • Jupyter Notebooks
    • Java MapReduce
    • Python (PySpark)
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis and machine learning fundamentals
  • Experience working within big data environments, including data flow and enterprise architectures
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, GitLab, and Agile methodologies
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience across the full software development lifecycle (requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, integration, deployment, and maintenance)
  • Experience supporting Data Science, Machine Learning (ML), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives
  • Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs)


Salary Range

USD $170,000.00 - USD $205,000.00 /Yr.

The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
