Aon is looking for a Senior Vice President, Professional Services

What the day will look like

  • Manage and oversee team members who provide insurance broking and related advisory services for the insurance needs of professional service firm clients. Among others, this includes delegating tasks to team members and working with them to provide the following services:
  • Drive and lead client service teams in the delivery of services and advice to clients' senior management, risk managers and offices of general counsel.
  • Build relationships with insurance/reinsurance markets and participate in the broking of requisite insurance placements.
  • Provide advice, support, and prepare key deliverables to clients.
  • Advise and present to senior client contacts regarding their insurance programs, Aon deliverables, and in response to requests and inquiries.
  • Prepare underwriting submissions and claims exhibits for commercial (re)insurers.
  • Draft and prepare policy documentation and endorsements and prepare wording comparisons across different risks, when necessary.
  • Monitor the financial strength ratings of commercial (re) insurers.
  • Lead the accurate organization and administration of clients' claims data and its extraction for reporting purposes
  • Collaborate with the group's data and analytics leader in using data to assist clients in understanding and managing their professional liability risk. Prepare and analyze statistical exhibits and presentations in relation to historical claims experience.
  • Collaborate with team members and Aon's actuaries to analyze the cost of risk for the setting of (re)insurance premiums.
  • Prepare reports, summaries, papers, and meeting materials for delivery directly to clients.
  • Plan and coordinate client meetings and events as required.
  • Drive business development within the practice and the exploration of new and evolving risks and potential risk transfer and risk financing solutions.
  • Respond to queries from clients and commercial (re)insurers.
  • Manage and assist in the preparation and issuance of verifications of insurance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in other Aon offices (Chicago, London, New York, Bermuda and elsewhere) in the coordinated delivery of service to clients.
  • Attend team meetings, maintain team/personal outstanding lists, and maintain files that clearly and accurately record the activities and communications of the team.
  • Attend training sessions, presentations and meetings that will assist with present and anticipated future responsibilities.

How this opportunity is different

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, conscientious, and career-minded individual to join our client service team. The Senior Vice President (SVP) role provides direct client responsibilities plus a need to support and collaborate with other Senior Managers on Professional Indemnity Insurance programs in addition to other insurance placements such as Cyber insurance, D&O/Management Liability and Property & Casualty programs. The SVP must manage and lead team members and ensure all clients' needs are promptly and accurately satisfied; ensure all deadlines are met on a timely basis; ensure quality standards are maintained and handle projects and responsibilities independently.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 8+ years of previous insurance or related experience preferably dealing with law firm clients.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in using data and models to deliver solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Experience as an effective team player. Motivated and self-directed. Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and control workflow deadlines, manage multiple tasks and responsibilities and be flexible.
  • Support the development of colleagues - train and mentor others effectively.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word and Excel in particular).
  • Willingness to travel within the U.S. and internationally.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree. Master's Degree or JD would be a plus.
  • Brokers License (or willingness to obtain such license within 4 months).

Your employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining the P&C license in the required states, as designated by Aon. You must successfully complete the required course work and pass the examinations within 120 days of your start date. You will be expected to pass the examination in no more than three attempts. If you do not pass after your third attempt, your employment with Aon will be terminated immediately. In addition, you will complete all required paperwork necessary in obtaining the license. Aon will be responsible for paying the costs associated with the coursework and examinations according to the Aon licensing policy, for up to three attempts. Failure to meet these requirements will result in the termination of your employment with the firm.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $200,000 to $240,000 The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
