Security Operations Analyst I

Primary Purpose of Job

Supports the bank's information security program through detection and analysis of all technology-related security events. Works under the guidance of the Information Security teammates to develop technical and analytical security operations skills.

Major Job Accountabilities

• Monitor security alerts and events using tools such as (Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), endpoint protection, and data loss prevention systems.
• Assist in triaging security alerts and reports to determine potential threats or false positives.
• Responsible for escalation support, security tickets, and security incident response.
• Performs incident monitoring and reporting that includes analysis and correlation of information or data for the purpose of identifying intrusion attempts, vulnerabilities, and/or compromises to Bank systems.
• Ensures technical enforcement of internal security policies and standards to maintain the integrity of the networks, systems and applications utilized throughout the organization, including functionality of user access controls.
• Performs security event monitoring and correlation using theSIEM, data loss prevention, and other tools to detect and respond to security events.
• Assist with implementation of security controls and participate in testing activities.
• Maintain awareness of emerging cybersecurity threats and industry best practices.
• Create and/or maintain Information Security content (i.e., articles, information, procedures and standards)
• Ensure work performed complies with internal policies and applicable banking regulations.

Experience Required

0-3 years of:

• Exposure to security tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection, firewalls, etc. Prior experience within a financial services organization is a plus.
• Experience in IT helpdesk, system administration, or technical support is a plus.

Required Skills or Training

• Foundational understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, basic Open Systems Interconnect (OSI) model knowledge).
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles (confidentiality, integrity, availability).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow documented procedures and escalate appropriately.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Must be self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn in a hands-on learning environment. Critical thinker with the ability to research, develop and communicate solutions to detect security incidents in a timely manner.
