DH AUDIOLOGY CLINIC PAV L Job Summary

Under the supervision of a Licensed Audiologist, the Audiology Assistant performs delegated tasks in the Audiology Clinic including patient care, assisting with testing, maintaining equipment, working with hearing aids/amplification devices and handling administrative duties.

Essential Functions:
  • Assist with patient testing, primarily the pediatric population (20%)
  • Check in and program hearing aids (20%)
  • Clean, check, troubleshoot and perform minor repairs for hearing aids/amplification devices (15%)
  • Prepare contracts for hearing aid fitting appointments (15%)
  • Perform newborn hearing screenings in the Newborn Nursery and NICU (10%)
  • Perform infection control with equipment and in patient areas (10%)
  • Prepare equipment and room based on appointment type (5%)
  • Check the functionality of equipment, maintain and restock supplies within the sound booths and patient areas (5%)

Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience:
  • less than 1 year Previous experience in healthcare or customer service preferred

Licenses:
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding and display of the principles of customer service as it applies to patients and staff
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to problem solve
