Job Summary:

The Mutuel Teller is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service while accurately processing pari-mutuel wagers and payouts for live and simulcast racing. This role requires strong attention to detail, cash-handling accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Responsible for supporting the Company's mission, vision, and values by providing an unparalleled experience of fun and entertainment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Lead by example.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high degree of hospitality, as well as a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Creates high levels of morale, fosters teamwork, inspires collaboration, and provides suggestions for growth to management.
  • Deliver outstanding hospitality with a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Sell and cash pari-mutuel tickets accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide guests with accurate information regarding live and simulcast racing events.
  • Maintain, reconcile, and balance an assigned cash drawer.
  • Ensure precise payouts and correct change distribution.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for operational improvement to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:



  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Previous cash handling or customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and ability to handle money accurately.
  • Ability to provide professional, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Canterbury Park conducts pre-employment screening for all positions which includes a criminal background check and verification of work history.
  • Must be able to attain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license which includes a criminal background check.
