Pay:



  • $22.50/hour


Neighbor-to-Neighbor Companions is a service that supports older adults who want to live at home, stay healthy, and remain independent. Companions provide weekly inhome support including friendly visiting, transportation, simple household tasks, and advocacy. Services are tailored to the specific needs of each client, focusing on safety, wellbeing, and meaningful connection. The Coordinator primarily supports clients and volunteers in the metro area, with a heavy focus in Hennepin County.

As a Program Coordinator you will have the following key responsibilities:



  • Program Growth & Outreach

    • Build and sustain program enrollment by conducting proactive outreach to prospective clients, families, caregivers, and referral partners.
    • Promote program visibility through community presentations, networking, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Partner with recruitment teams and use creative strategies to attract qualified volunteers.


  • Volunteer Recruitment, Training & Supervision

    • Recruit, screen, and onboard volunteers, ensuring completion of required background checks.
    • Deliver orientation, training, and ongoing support to volunteers.
    • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and recognition to encourage strong volunteer retention.
    • Maintain regular communication with volunteers to monitor satisfaction, challenges, and match quality.


  • Client Management & Match Coordination

    • Coordinate the full intake process, including gathering client needs and preferences, completing referral forms, and ensuring required paperwork is submitted.
    • Manage caseload of clients, ensuring services align with program guidelines and individual needs.
    • Create thoughtful, wellaligned matches based on interests, abilities, and location.
    • Facilitate match meetings and support initial relationship building between clients and companions.
    • Monitor ongoing matches for quality, satisfaction, and safety.


  • Compliance, Documentation & Administrative Tasks

    • Maintain accurate, uptodate client and volunteer files, service agreements, and required program documentation.
    • Ensure adherence to all organizational, state, and program regulations.
    • Track service hours, mileage, and billingrelated data in accordance with program structure.
    • Support monthly invoicing processes and maintain documentation required for audits.


  • Quality Assurance & Program Excellence

    • Serve as a resource and advocate for clients, ensuring safety, wellbeing, and connection.
    • Assess service needs and recommend adjustments to ensure highquality support.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance program processes and strengthen outcomes.




Job Requirements:



  • A bachelor's degree in the human services field or five years of equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with the older adult population and/or volunteers is desired.
  • A valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, access to reliable transportation and a Motor Vehicle Check.
  • Excellent reasoning and analytical skills in order to understand and effectively interpret program policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations/individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of issues relating to aging and volunteerism.
  • Depending on service area, 50% to 70% of time will be spent out of the office meeting with volunteers and clients or at community events.
