Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.

Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Sr Principal PPM Specialist - Master Scheduler to support our D5LE2 programs. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

We encourage you to apply if you have any of these skills or experiences:

  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and/or scheduling tools and best practices
  • Familiarity with defense or federal contracting, including government procurement cycles and DCMA/DCAA audits
  • Experience developing or managing Integrated Master Plans (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and program management tools
  • PMI Scheduling Professional Certification (preferred for Integrated Master Planner focus)

What you'll experience:

  • Leading cost and schedule development and performance analysis on programs typically valued at $50M+ per year and $200M+ total contract value
  • Presenting program performance data and Estimates at Complete (EAC) to executive leadership and external customers
  • Managing EVMS compliance through audits and driving proactive, data-informed decisions across program teams
  • Developing and integrating Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), IMP/IMS, and time-phased budgets across complex, multi-site programs
  • Evaluating, implementing, and optimizing new EVMS and scheduling tools to improve program performance management

What you bring to the table:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated leadership of teams in a program performance management or related role
  • Subject matter expertise in EVMS and/or scheduling, including critical path analysis, resource loading, and schedule health checks
  • Domain expertise in program/product life cycle, financial processes, material management, and contracting structure
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with subcontractors and managing complex proposal activities including WBS and IMP/IMS development
  • Ability to lead multiple high-priority projects simultaneously across multiple geographic locations

  • Proven ability to lead EVMS compliance efforts through DCMA and DCAA audits on large, complex programs
  • Experience integrating lower-level schedules into a master program schedule and resolving network logic conflicts
  • Track record of defining and automating process improvements to solve complex business problems
  • Demonstrated ability to align and engage teams to company strategy while interfacing with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience representing an organization at government/industry meetings or on joint industry/government committees

Workplace Options:
This position is fully on-site with the option to flex moving forward. We are not offering a relocation package at this time.

Target salary range: USD $155,000.00/Yr. - USD $170,000.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
