The Nurse Practitioner (NP) Lead is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions, as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. This includes developing appropriate plans of care and conducting ongoing evaluations. The NP Lead will perform additional leadership duties on the team/department through indirect management of other Advanced Practice Providers and/or Allied Health Professionals.
Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings. -Performs complete histories and physical examinations. -Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests. -Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings. -Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures. -Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries. -Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population. -Nurse Practitioners Leads will also perform additional duties, including but not limited to: indirectly managing other Advanced Practice Providers and/or Allied Health Professionals; providing support in staffing/scheduling as needed; becoming involved in daily clinical problem solving, onboarding, and metric tracking; provides input on appraisals, staff development, discipline, and hiring and termination decisions.
