The estimated per hourly range for this position is $22 - 30 per hour based on experience. Join Our Team as a Tool Design Engineer Intern! The S&C tooling team is looking for someone to move into the position of Tooling Designer. Our tooling team supports the manufacturing processes of our product lines by producing a variety of ergonomic and safety related tools including fixtures, assembly tooling, logistics equipment, test equipment, etc. Familiarity of 3D Cad modeling is required. The candidate will conceptualize designs working from blueprints, cad models, and sketches. Also, will be involved in 3D printing. This position requires good communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of personnel from engineers to production team members. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: * Designing and troubleshooting various types of tooling, including fixtures, gages, assembly tooling, specialty carts, racks, stands, and workbenches. * Taking ownership of the quality and accuracy of completed assignments. * Identifying tooling-related issues and developing effective solutions. * Tooling assembly. * Preparing and submitting requests for quotes (RFQs). * Creating purchase requisitions in the Oracle system. To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following: * Be working toward a bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Design, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred). * Have experience with 3D CAD system. * Basic understanding of the properties and characteristics of various tool materials and their applications. * The ability to work from, understand, and produce CAD generated drawings. * Basic knowledge of electrical circuits. * Microsoft Office skills MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS * Standing: Many tasks are performed in a standing position. * Lifting: Occasional lifting of items weighing up to 40 pounds * Walking: Moderate walking of distances up to 1 mile around the S&C Campus * Carrying: Occasional carrying of items weighing up to 25 lbs. * Pushing: Occasional use of a cart, pushing to move parts a moderate distance * Pulling: Occasional use of a cart, pulling to move parts a moderate distance * Bending: Occasional bending and crouching required to perform a variety of tasks * Reaching: Occasional need for full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees to reach for items * Handling: Occasional handling of parts and tools to perform a variety of tasks * Environment: Consists of time spent both in an office environment and on the production floor Ready to make an impact and become an employee-owner?
