This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. This role sits within Blue Origin's Inclusive People Systems organization and leads the enterprise strategy for integrating veteran and military spouse talent across the company. Blue Origin's vision, to build a future where millions of people live and work in space, requires exceptional talent across engineering, operations, and corporate functions. Veterans and military spouses bring leadership, technical expertise, and operational discipline that are critical to building and scaling the teams that will make that future possible. The Principal, Military Talent Strategy defines and leads Blue Origin's long-term approach to attracting, integrating, and advancing military-connected talent. Operating as an enterprise strategist and advisor, this role partners with senior leaders, Talent Acquisition, and Human Resources to build systems that support the full employee lifecycle for military talent across Blue's growing workforce. Success in his role requires the ability to operate at both the strategic and operational levels, defining long-term strategy while building the programs that bring that strategy to life. The role owns enterprise vision, strategy, and enterprise programs that enable veterans and military spouses to successfully transition into civilian careers and thrive as part of Team Blue. Responsibilities:
  • Develop and lead Blue Origin's enterprise strategy for veteran and military spouse workforce integration, including onboarding, career development, retention, and long-term advancement pathways.
  • Serve as an enterprise advisor to senior leaders on how military talent supports Blue Origin's workforce strategy.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and business leaders to build pipelines for critical technical, engineering, and operations roles; this role does not own recruiting execution.
  • Design and launch programs that support successful transitions from military service to civilian careers at Blue, including onboarding, mentorship, and leadership development pathways.
  • Develop and manage the external brand and engagement strategy for military talent, positioning Blue Origin as a top destination for veterans and military spouses.
  • Lead change management efforts required to integrate military talent programs across multiple business units and locations.
  • Establish and manage strategic partnerships with military transition programs, government organizations, and national veteran networks to expand Blue Origin's military talent pipeline.
  • Lead initiatives that support retention, engagement, and career advancement for veteran and military spouse employees.
  • Collaborate with internal organizations, including the Veterans Business Resource Group and executive sponsors, to strengthen the employee experience for military-connected employees.
  • Deliver actionable insights to executive leadership using data dashboards, impact briefs, and trend analyses on the performance and experience of veteran and military spouse hires.
  • Manage the military talent program budget in partnership with the Director of Inclusive People Systems and Finance.
  • Operate in ambiguity with speed and precision and deliver immediate impact while building long term capability.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in workforce strategy or military outreach at a high level, including 5+ years influencing at the executive level
  • Demonstrated success leading veteran or military spouse programs with measurable impact at scale.
  • Deep understanding of military culture, transition programs, and the unique challenges and opportunities facing veteran and military spouse talent, with the ability to translate this knowledge into actionable business strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and align stakeholders around strategic workforce initiatives.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to develop strategy documents and executive decision memos.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting technical or engineering workforce pipelines.
  • Experience in the aerospace, defense, or high-growth tech companies.
  • Familiarity with military transition programs and veteran workforce initiatives.
  • Experience developing enterprise talent strategies or workforce integration programs.

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $157,059.00 - $219,882.60

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
