Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create summary reports, data extracts, and other financial analyses for management and external vendors.
  • Pull underlying data by creating/modifying SQL queries to run in Epic's Clarity database.
  • Adjust query outputs in Excel, add formulas, charts, and graphs to summarize data and show underlying trends.
  • Link output data to other workbooks to create more complex data models if required.
  • Uses Visual Studio to generate appropriate output format.
  • Uses Excel VBA to automate reports.
  • Build contract models using Epic contract modeling tools.
  • Build contract models in Excel by querying Epic's Clarity database.
  • Refresh underlying claim data in contract models as contract terms change.
  • Build SQL templates to pull patient, claim, department, or enterprise-wide data.
  • Maintains and updates the templates after each Epic upgrade.
  • Thorough understanding of source data systems and their interaction with medical claims.

Education and Experience

Associates degree with a major in computer science, business, mathematics, engineering, science and 3 years' experience in Revenue Cycle Reporting required. 5 years of experience in lieu of degree.

Certification and Licensure

Required to obtain the following Epic certifications within the one year of hire: Cogito Fundamentals (or prior equivalent), Clarity Data Model, Revenue Data Model.

Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement programs, coding, and billing preferred.
