An Instructor is a clinical faculty member who has completed a graduate degree in the area in which the faculty member will be teaching. Instructors have demonstrated competence in facilitating learning, in scholarship, and in service, or any combination of those activities, in a clinical or didactic environment. Salary Range: $105,060.00 annualized, Full-Time, Exempt. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university. Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended. Experience: Adequate years of experience in the areas involved in assignments; Nursing - minimum of two years of full-time registered nursing clinical experience. Education - documented potential in the areas of facilitating learning, scholarship, and service, as applicable to assignments; and if appropriate, a record of meritorious performance of the duties and obligations of an instructor. Certifications, Licenses, etc.: Unencumbered RN licensure in Arizona or multi-state compact license. For faculty teaching in post-licensure online programs, unencumbered RN licensure in California and state of residence. Additional licenses may be required. Certified Nurse Educator or certification in specialty area preferred. Skills: * Proficient computer skills. * The ability to work independently and be self-motivated. * High level of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to problem solve. * The ability to explain complex requirements in clear and concise terms * The ability to be flexible with workflow to meet the needs of the department and students and to manage multiple tasks per required deadlines * The drive to encourage, direct, hold accountable and guide students toward task completion. * Must demonstrate the ability to work as an effective team member and develop trusting relationships with students and University employees. * Culturally competent and ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and/or experiences * Highly motivated, focused and results oriented. * Ability to exercise discretion and tact in all interpersonal interactions, and to maintain confidentiality. * Collaboration and partnering with other university stakeholders to support candidate success. * Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments. Duties Required of All Faculty - Certain duties are additionally required of all faculty and are not given formal workload credit but will be included in yearly evaluations. These include but are not limited to:
Supervisory Responsibility: Direct Reports: N/A Indirect Reports: N/A Contact Responsibility: Internal: Interacts with supervisor to receive direction and instructions and/or review of work results. This position with work closely with colleagues in multiple departments (i.e. Admissions, Student Advising, Registrar, etc.) to support both students and colleagues in achieving student success and Department goals. External: Interacts with prospective students, to provide advice and support. Interacts with accrediting and regulatory agencies as required. Primary Work Location, Hours & Travel Requirements: Office Location: Phoenix Campus - 3110 N Central Ave Suite G-125. Phoenix, AZ 85012. Work Hours: Standard office hours, occasional evenings, nights, or weekends may be required depending upon the course and clinical schedule. Travel: Occasional travel to clinical sites within 50 miles of campus.
