If you're ready to take on meaningful challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, Dayton T. Brown, Inc. - Mission Systems Division in Hollywood, MD is looking for a talented Electrical Engineer to join our team full-time, on-site.

In this role, you'll work alongside experienced professionals supporting advanced military mission systems, contributing to projects that make a real impact in defense and technology.

The successful candidate will perform the following:



  • Designing moderately complex systems and circuits as needed for integration into current and future mission systems.
  • Interpreting internal and customer provided server rack drawings and ICDs for adaptation into DTB platform specific documentation.
  • Creating and updating electrical schematic and block diagram drawings using Autodesk AutoCAD.
  • Calculating and/or reviewing SWAP data and power consumption requirements for both rack mounted and non-rack mounted equipment.
  • Providing SME level troubleshooting support to both shop and field technicians as needed to resolve deployed unit technical concerns in a timely manner.
  • Reviewing incoming RFIs, RFPs, quotes, and other new business documents for feasibility with respect to electrical design requirements.
  • With support from management and fellow staff engineers, function as the primary point of contact for electrical engineering concerns during system design and upgrade processes.
  • Applying general engineering disciplines to develop innovative solutions to unique customer needs.
  • Assist your fellow staff engineers with general engineering department functions, including but not limited to minor mechanical design, process development, and drawing review.
  • Participate in activities such as systems modification installation, interface testing, systems operational performance verification, troubleshooting and evaluation of technical issues, and generating technical reports and presentations.
  • Providing general engineering support for the Program, Production and Product Support teams as needed.



A qualified candidate must have:



  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or other compatible degree program from an accredited education institution.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in an R&D, prototyping, or small to medium scale manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with CAD modeling and drafting software, preferably Autodesk Inventor.
  • The ability to work both independently and in small teams to meet goals and objectives.
  • A strong, self-motivated work ethic, with a dedication to meeting the mission.
  • A positive, team-player oriented disposition
  • A willingness to take necessary training or educational classes as required to gain knowledge in specialized areas.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office program suited as needed to perform basic functions.
  • The ability to travel both CONUS and OCONUS when required.
  • US Citizenship.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.



An ideal candidate would have:



  • Experience working with US Military service members, DOD employees, and civilian contractors in support of DOD procurement, development, and sustainment efforts.
  • Active-Duty US Military experience in a role supporting aircraft, shipboard, or ground equipment maintenance and modification.
  • Familiarity with Tempest requirements, ICD-705 spaces, and EMI/RF shielding design and maintenance.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP software.
  • Experience integrating AC and DC power distribution, fiber optic, RF, and ethernet signal aspects into complex mission focused platforms.
  • Leadership or management experience leading fellow engineers, technicians, or other team members.
