About the Role:

The Facilities Foreman/Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in overseeing and coordinating all maintenance activities within the facility. This position ensures that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards, minimizing downtime and extending the lifespan of equipment and infrastructure. The role involves managing a team of maintenance technicians, scheduling work orders, and collaborating with production managers to align maintenance efforts with overall production timelines. The Maintenance Foreman/Supervisor is responsible for enforcing safety protocols, conducting inspections, and troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, and structural issues. Ultimately, this role drives operational excellence by maintaining a well-functioning, safe, and compliant work environment that supports the successful completion of construction projects across the United States.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance, construction, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance within the shipbuilding industry, or industrial facility, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and structural maintenance practices and safety regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in Facilities Management, Engineering Technology, or 5 years' experience in an industrial maintenance supervisory role.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 10, Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM), or similar credentials.
  • Experience with computerized programs.
  • Familiarity with shipbuilding and infrastructure requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience in conflict resolution and team building.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion of repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance and support to enhance productivity and skill development.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance schedules, work orders, and documentation to track progress and resource allocation.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment, machinery, and electrical / mechanical systems inside the facility to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with production managers, and vendors to coordinate maintenance efforts and procure necessary materials or services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and structural problems to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inventory, and equipment performance for reporting and auditing purposes.

Skills:

The required skills enable the Facilities Foreman/Supervisor to effectively oversee complex maintenance operations by applying technical knowledge to diagnose and resolve issues promptly. Leadership and team management skills are essential for motivating and guiding maintenance personnel to achieve high performance and adherence to safety standards. Organizational skills are used daily to prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and maintain detailed records that support operational efficiency and compliance. Communication skills facilitate clear instructions, collaboration with project stakeholders, and reporting to management, ensuring alignment with project goals.
