What You'll Do As a Project Manager I, you will lead low to medium complexity projects to achieve Total Project Success-meeting scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives-while serving as the primary client contact and coordinating multidiscipline teams. - Confirm scope and requirements with clients and stakeholders with support from the CRM or Operations Director as needed.
- Ensure contracts are fully executed by the appropriate Principal and align team to contractual obligations.
- Develop proposals and help build financial plans; confirm staffing and preliminary manhour budgets with Senior PM/CRM/Operations.
- Lead effective project kickoffs to align scope, standards, budgets, roles, and expectations; foster ownership and trust.
- Work with discipline leads to finalize work plans and detailed taskhour budgets; update plans as conditions change.
- Establish schedules with client input; set interim milestones for timely information flow and coordination.
- Schedule and sequence work; communicate action items; monitor manpower requirements across disciplines and maintain profit variance within targets.
- Maintain complete project documentation and organized storage so information is current and accessible.
- Facilitate meetings with owners, clients, and architects; document decisions and followups.
- Monitor budget and fee burn; recognize how hours charged impact revenue and forecasts; identify and process additional services as needed.
- Prepare and implement proactive QA/QC plans; coordinate timely reviews and submittals to meet standards.
- Identify risks to quality, schedule, or financial goals; analyze root causes, propose mitigation, and escalate when needed.
- Oversee Construction Administration to support conformance of installed systems with design intent and quality standards.
- Ensure accurate invoices are issued promptly; track AR status and update projected monthly revenue.
- Supervise closeout: punchlist coordination, documentation, filings, lessons learned, and project archive.
- Engage in ongoing training; deepen technical discipline knowledge and project leadership skills; support business development with existing clients.
Who We're Looking For Minimum Requirements:
- Technical or Bachelor's degree in one of the major technical disciplines practiced by the firm with four years related project experience OR
- Ten years of practical experience on similar projects
- Professional Engineer Licensure preferred (required by those who have a ABET accredited degree in engineering)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing multidiscipline design teams and coordinating with subconsultants and contractors.
- Working knowledge of project financials including fees, change orders, earned value, and forecasts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort with scheduling/resource planning tools.
- Clear, concise communication and meeting facilitation; strong documentation and followthrough.
- Ability to analyze issues, evaluate options, and make sound decisions in collaboration with stakeholders.
