Job/Dept Summary: The Development Assistant, Leadership Gifts provides support with activities such as portfolio and database management for gift officers, scheduling internal, donor, and physician meetings; reviewing gifts for accuracy and processing, handling acknowledgments constituent management in donor database; preparing and processing mailings; and general administrative support. Responsibilities:
  • Provides general office support including answering phones, greeting and directing guests, and providing other basic administrative help as necessary
  • Maintains meeting calendar of supervisors and schedules internal and external appointments and meetings with donors, physicians, volunteers, and Hospital staff. Reserves and prepares conference rooms and orders refreshments for meetings and donor visits
  • Makes local and national travel arrangements for Trust staff, and hospital staff as needed
  • Maintains constituent information in donor database including biographical information, Trust codes, solicitor actions, and proposal information
  • Assists in developing materials for use in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors and prospects
  • Prepares invoices for the department including payment requisitions for vendors, employee reimbursements and serves as contact to resolve discrepancies. May reconcile monthly bills with overall budget
  • Assists in coordinating logistics for events including tracking attendance, securing room space, ordering refreshments with vendors, and working at the event
  • Assists supervisors with projects and preparation of reports and documents, as needed
Education and Requirements:
  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree and 4 years of fundraising related work experience is required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred and would replace the experience requirement
Experience:
  • Strong relationship management skills and the ability to connect with donors and other stakeholders to help resolve their issues
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint); Ability to work with data and databases
  • Must be available to work occasional nights and weekends for event coverage

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
