TheSystems Engineering (SE), Design and FabricationGroupis responsible fortheHigh Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) configuration management program.This group also provides technical support to operations, maintenance and performs systems analysis.

Asa SeniorElectrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Engineer, you will design andmodifyreactor instrumentation loops and control systems, provide technical support for I&C maintenance activities, lead field work, and analyze reactor system performance.This position will function asa cognizantsystem engineer for the assigned HFIR plant system in the HFIR System Engineering Program and DOE O 420.1 for the hazard category 1 nuclear facility and shall be qualified as a HFIR System Engineer in the RRD Training Program.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, modification, and documentation of reactor structures, systems, and components.

• Apply and interpret applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (DOE Orders, ASME, ICC, IEEE, etc.) in engineering decisions.

• Oversee field implementation, testing, and execution of engineering modifications.

• Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting equipment issues and developing corrective and preventive maintenance strategies.

• Develop work instructions and provide technical direction to craft personnel during maintenance and field activities.

• Perform operability assessments and lead technical evaluations of abnormal events and equipment issues.

• Monitor system performance, evaluate maintenance and reliability data, andidentifysystem vulnerabilities and improvement opportunities.

• Follow environmental, safety, health, and quality program requirements to promote a safe working environment.

Basic Qualifications:

• ABS in electrical engineeringor related field and a minimum of15years of relevant experiencein design/systems engineering.

• Tenor more years of experience with electrical, instrumentation and control, or digital control systems at anuclear facility.

• Extensive experience developing, interpreting, and applying complex technical requirements, specifications, and design criteria to support project execution and engineering decisions.

• Advanced ability to read, interpret, and provide technical oversight of electrical design drawings, including single-line diagrams, schematics, and related design documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with the regulatory programs which define the HFIR work environment, including DOE Orderspertaining toconduct of operation and maintenance, OSHA requirements, and IEEE standards.

• Familiarity with General Design Criteria for Nuclear Power Plants or General Design Specifications for HFIR.

• Ability to diagnose instrument problems and develop formal work package instructions for performance and documentation of repairs.

• Experience in the operation, calibration, and troubleshooting of radiation monitors and sensors, experience with flow instrumentation, and familiarity with environmental and process monitoring systems, including temperature, pressure, and level sensors used in nuclear facilities.

• Experience in project management, leading maintenance tasks, procedure development, procurement of materials, and equipment analysis is desired.

• Familiarity with instrumentation loops associated with reactor safety systems that include power supplied, recorders, tripcomparatorsand isolators.

• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70E and NFPA 70B.
