Position Summary

The Medical Device Assembly Technician is responsible for producing high-quality cardiovascular medical devices within a manufacturing cell. This role involves detailed assembly, inspection, testing, and packaging of medical device components while following documented procedures and maintaining strict quality and safety standards. Work may be performed in a controlled cleanroom environment using specialized tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Assembly & Production




  • Assemble medical devices and related components according to standardized procedures



  • Perform electronic, mechanical, and coating/casting assembly operations



  • Use microscopes, hand tools, razor blades, syringes, soldering tools, and adhesives as required



  • Operate production equipment and machinery as part of the assembly process




Inspection & Testing




  • Conduct visual inspections and precision measurements of components and assemblies



  • Perform functional testing using computerized test equipment



  • Repair or rework components using microscopes and precision tools when needed




Packaging & Documentation




  • Package completed devices and verify all components and documentation are accurate



  • Maintain production records, shop floor documentation, and quality tracking to ensure full product traceability




Safety & Compliance




  • Follow all safety guidelines and utilize appropriate protective equipment



  • Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials according to procedures



  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment




Continuous Improvement & Teamwork




  • Participate in quality and continuous improvement initiatives



  • Support team performance goals and communicate production issues to supervisors



  • Notify supervisors when materials or supplies need replenishment




Required Qualifications




  • High school diploma required



  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing or assembly experience



  • Ability to read and follow written procedures and instructions in English



  • Basic math skills and ability to follow verbal instructions



  • Good manual dexterity to handle small components and precision tools



  • Ability to use electronic data collection systems and basic computer software



  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work with minimal supervision




Work Environment




  • May require working in a controlled cleanroom environment



  • Work involves handling small components and performing detailed assembly tasks
