MISSION
As a BI Analyst, you will work with a team to maintain and enhance our data warehouse, BI platform, and the connections that make this possible.
This position works alongside business partners to understand the desired outcomes and translates these into functional/technical requirements that can be evaluated, prioritized, and developed. To be successful the employee should be adept in process mapping, fit-gap analysis, system administration, data quality management, and designing report templates.
A BI Analyst works alongside a BI engineer, who is responsible for data warehouse development, integrations, and underlying architecture. While these fall outside of typical duties of the BI Analyst, they should be capable and willing to perform intermediate data aggregation and accommodate ad-hoc requests when the balance of work requires it.
This position will be contributing to the implementation of an Enterprise Performance Management system (OneStream) and should expect that onboarding will focus on system training and knowledge transfer of existing procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with business users to tailor data extracts and create reports/templates
- Create functional requirements for new requests and project/implementation related changes
- Manage data access control and data partitioning integrity.
- Evaluate issues reported by users and provide aid to users in use of self-service data.
- Keep up to date documentation as it relates to KPI design, data transformations, and critical business logic
- Act as liaison between Finance and BI to increase the value returned by our EPM solution.
- Provide updates to customers, business, and co-workers on a timely basis for projects and tasks.
- Support application lifecycle, upgrades, configuration and troubleshooting for BI tools.
- Keep up to date documentation as it relates to KPI design, data transformations, and critical business logic
- Performs all other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree or demonstration of equivalent experience in information technology, computer science, engineering, or other technology related fields.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 3 years' experience working in Business Intelligence or Financial reporting
- Experience writing intermediate to advanced SQL queries (preferably related to financial transactions)
- Practical experience working with ETL tools (SSIS, Data Pipelines, Python)
SKILLS OR KNOWLEDGE
- Intermediate/Advanced knowledge in SQL and data aggregation techniques
- Experience working with BI systems, and understanding of its relationship to CRM, CMS, and ERP
- Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and draw conclusions
- Understanding that answers to questions may not always be immediately available and are willing and capable of pursuing self-education when necessary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders
- Ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, and implement changes
- Ability to collaborate across departments, locations, and functions
- Can deliver results on time with some autonomy.
- Good Knowledge of the English Language.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE DESIRED
- Education and/or work experience in Life Sciences field
- Working with International Teams with Matrixed Reporting Structures
- Experience with C#, .Net, or Python
- Experience with OneStream EPM solution
- Experience with Financial reporting
