Strategic Communications

Axiologic is seeking a Strategic Communications Specialist to support the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) CIO, IT Integration Division (CIO-1). This position serves as a senior advisor on IT-focused strategic communications, translating complex technology initiatives into clear, compelling messaging for CIO leadership, the DIA workforce, industry partners, and IT customers. The Strategic Communications Specialist will develop and execute communication strategies that enhance information sharing, drive transparency, and ensure alignment between IT programs and the CIO's mission, vision, and strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a comprehensive suite of strategic communication products and support services including official correspondence, speech writing, talking points, and ghost notes, while creating robust communications plans with defined milestones and appropriate messaging channels to reach internal and external stakeholders

• Serve as a communication liaison between CIO IT strategy initiatives and stakeholders, improving transparency and driving customer engagement by supporting change initiatives aligned with DIA's strategic actions and CIO priorities

• Attend CIO town halls, review organizational updates, and manage communications across individual customers to enable rapid, anticipatory messaging that advances the CIO's vision and ensures synchronization of efforts across the entire team

• Identify, craft, and execute strategic narratives and CIO marketing materials, developing and refining communication capabilities to provide comprehensive campaign support through the integration of creative services when feasible

Required Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance (CI Poly preferred)

• Minimum of 12 years of experience in strategic communications, IT strategy, or a closely related field within the DoD or Intelligence Community, with at least a portion of that experience within the last 2 years

• Master's degree in Communications, Information Technology, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related discipline from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus an additional 5 years of related senior experience (13 years total) may be substituted in lieu of a Master's degree

• In-depth knowledge of IT strategic communications within DoD or IC environments, with demonstrated ability to translate complex technology initiatives into accessible messaging for diverse audiences

Travel Requirements:

• Travel will be required within Washington National Capital Region (NCR) on an as-needed basis for customer or corporate requirements.

Level of Responsibility:

• Work includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment concerning matters of administrative/operational needs.

Level of Supervision Required:

• The supervisor sets the overall objectives and resources available. The employee plans and carries out the assignment resolves most of the conflicts, coordinates work with others and interpret policy on own initiative. The employee keeps the supervisor informed of progress, potentially controversial matters, or far-reaching implications.

Work Environment:

• This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate within a team environment.

• Ability to type, sitting or standing, to complete work functions for hours at a time; ability to move between sitting, standing and walking on a frequent basis.

• This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week on site, Monday through Friday, within the contract hours of 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
