Tectonic is currently seeking a full-time Human Resource Assistant to join our fast-paced Corporate HR Department in Orange County, NY. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The HR Assistant will play a key role in supporting the organization's onboarding experience, employee relations support, and recruitment activities on a day-to-day basis. This role will focus on ensuring a smooth and welcoming transition for new employees while also assisting with recruitment coordination and ongoing employee support.
Primary responsibilities include coordinating and managing the onboarding process, such as scheduling and preparing new hire orientations, coordinating safety orientations, ensuring completion and accuracy of employment documentation, and serving as a resource for new employees as they transition into their roles. The HR Assistant will help create a positive onboarding experience by assisting employees with questions, providing guidance on policies and procedures, and supporting follow-up activities after orientation.
In addition to onboarding, the HR Assistant will support recruitment efforts by coordinating candidate communications, scheduling interviews, and supporting hiring managers throughout the selection process. The role will also assist with preparing and issuing employment offers in accordance with applicable guidelines, including OFCCP requirements.
The HR Assistant will further provide general employee relations and HR support, including maintaining personnel records, assisting employees with HR-related inquiries, supporting internal HR processes, assisting with offboarding, and contributing to initiatives that promote a positive and compliant workplace environment. Additional duties and HR support activities will be performed as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Should possess at minimum a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field, preferably with a concentration in HR Management and 0-2 years of related work experience, or any other suitable combination of experience of education, training, or experience is acceptable;
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking and strong attention to detail is required;
- Ability to work in a flexible way that allows for changes in assignments and priorities depending upon identified needs of the department and the Company;
- Exceptional computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to act as a resource for and work effectively with diverse groups of people at various levels within an organization;
- Able to work well independently as well as part of a team;
- Good sense and sound judgement in practical matters;
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits, and employee issues.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
In order to perform the essential functions of this position, the candidate must be able to constantly assume a stationary position, and must handle and/or feel documents, materials, and/or equipment to perform necessary tasks, sometimes repetitively. The candidate must be able to occasionally maneuver within the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc., and may exert up to 15 lbs. of force occasionally. Constantly, they must be able to receive and convey detailed or important information with others via the Corporate e-mail system, telephone system, and in person. PAY RANGE
Tectonic's goal is to compensate employees fairly and equitable across all positions Companywide. Our advertised pay ranges are representative of our good faith effort to provide a reasonable anticipated salary range. The offered pay may be outside of the provided salary range based upon the selected candidate's work location, experience, education, certifications, and capabilities compared to the advertised position.
Pay Range: $21.00 - $23.50 / hour
