Working TitleUNM-Taos TRIO SSS Program Leader Pay18.00 Hourly CampusTaos DepartmentTaos Branch Employment TypeStudent Employment Student TypeWork-Study StatusNon-Exempt Background Check RequiredNo For Best Consideration Date4/1/2026 Position Summary UNM-Taos TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Program is seeking a Program Assistant * Assist TRIO SSS in serving first-generation (students with parents that have not completed a bachelor's degree), low-income (based on taxable income levels) and students with a documented disability achieve grant programs objectives and goals. * Assist UNM-Taos TRIO SSS Program in identifying and recruiting eligible program students and outreach initiatives. * Connect with TRIO SSS Program students during the academic semester to provide important academic, financial literacy and/or support to students during their academic experience at UNM-Taos as a peer leader. * Maintains confidential files and records, ensuring that ethical and legal guidelines are maintained. * Assist in the development and facilitation of academic, financial literacy, career development workshops and sessions. * Assist the TRIO SSS staff with campus visits and cultural activities programmed through the TRIO SSS Program. * Assists TRIO SSS program with updating program social media platforms with materials, information and posts as approved by TRIO SSS staff. * Researches and composes a list of local, state-wide and national scholarship opportunities to share with TRIO SSS students. * Works with TRIO SSS Staff to refer program students to other resources or support services as appropriate. * Serves as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act. * Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Equivalencies not found for this position Preferred Qualifications * Completed one semester in college; experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. * Ability to understand and connect with TRIO SSS Program student population and unique challenges. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. * Ability to gather data and compile information for program report purposes. * Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
