GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

To effectively plan, monitor, and control manufactured and purchased parts required to meet the Master Production Schedule.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Provides training assistance to new employees.
  • Load and unload shelters and other unique items requiring Class 7 forklift certification.
  • Load and unload materials and vendor parts from trucks.
  • Deliver/move shelters, unique items and material to designated interplant or local supplier locations/facilities.
  • Monitor and evaluate material (purchased, work in process, out-sourced) status utilizing MRP to ensure material availability.
  • Track and control parts in areas of responsibility. Inventory parts as directed.
  • Interfaces with various support functions including Program Management, Quality, Manufacturing and Purchasing to prevent schedule misses.
  • Properly store material in designated locations following safe practices.
  • Assists with physical inventory activities, including cycle counts, measurements, and raw material counts.
  • Completes required paperwork and system transactions accordingly.
  • Participates in Process Improvement Teams and recommends continuous improvements.
  • Responsible for observing and enforcing safety practices throughout the plant to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Required Experience:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:



  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
  • Ability to certify to safely operate equipment including forklifts.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with others both verbally and in written form.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • All aspects of Material Handler 2.
  • AA/AS from a 2-year college/university or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in a production / manufacturing environment.
  • Have a Valid State of Pennsylvania CDL License preferred.
  • Experience in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • MRP/ERP experience preferred.



WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Shop Floor environment.
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools).
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to tolerate constant noise (i.e.: machine motors).
  • Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions.
  • Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
