Peraton is seeking a Java Developer to help build Web and backend application/services for a credentialing/case management system using Java/Spring-based REST APIs along with a Web 2.0 framework in a continuous integration environment. The candidate will join our team of developers building the next generation of customer engagement systems for federal service agencies. Join our high-performing team supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This role plays a vital part in developing and sustaining a mission-critical, large-scale Java application development that directly supports national transportation security initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring experience in Java development. Location: Hybrid role- On-site in Colorado Springs, CO.

    Hybrid. On-site presence in Colorado Springs, CO is required for a minimum of three days per week. There are NO exceptions. Candidates must maintain flexibility to report on-site up to five days per week based on project or business needs.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Support full life-cycle development of a large enterprise Java applications.
  • Develop, enhance, and support a high-availability, enterprise-scale Java applications.
  • Perform data analysis and develop logic for integrating and reconciling complex data sources.
  • Design and implement clean, responsive user interfaces and work-flows.
  • Support mobile application development and ensure modern, scalable code standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and develop best practices.
  • Design and implement modern, intuitive user interfaces and data reporting tools.
  • Analyze, reconcile, and consolidate multi-source data.
  • Collaborate in an Agile environment with continuous integration pipelines.
  • Contribute to mobile application development and cross-functional team goals.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of IT experience, or associate's degree and 7 years' experience, or high school diploma/equivalent and 9 years' experience.
  • US Citizenship required
  • Must have an Active Secret clearance to be considered
  • 5 years of recent demonstrable experience developing and implementing software solutions to build enterprise applications using the following:
    • React
    • HTML
    • CSS
    • JavaScript
    • Spring Boot
    • JSP
  • 2+ years of experience with using the following Java development tools:
    • Eclipse
    • Git

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years building enterprise solutions using the Java/Spring framework.
  • 3+ years of experience using Redux.
  • Detailed understanding of database schema design/SQL Server (Oracle a plus).
  • 3 years of work experience with Linux/Unix shell scripting, for example:
    • KornShell (ksh)
    • Bourne Again Shell (Bash)
    • C shell (csh)
  • Knowledge of Entrust Authority Security Toolkit for the Java Platform.
  • Previous work in a large-scale Federal IT Program.

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
