The Salvation Army Midland Division Shelter located in St. Louis, Missouri, is looking for a Director of Special Events! This position is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of the Tree of Lights Campaign events and additional Development Department-related events throughout the year. This is a full-time, 40 hour a week position, exempt position $65,000 annually. 1130 Hampton Ave, St. Louis, MO 63139 Essential Functions
- Develop, promote, and oversee the execution of events conducted on behalf of The Salvation Army Greater Louis Region. Provide support, resources, and coaching for events across the Division.
- Establish annual fundraising goals and budget objectives for the planning and execution of events and their respective components. Evaluate ROI post-event and make recommendations for future events.
- Identify and secure event sponsorships, purchases and donations of income and items.

- In cooperation with Volunteer Manager, articulate volunteer needs for events and projects. Provide supervision to event volunteers where appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in management, business, public relations or related area and five (5) years related work experience. Will consider combination of education and experience.
- Proven track record of flawless event execution, in person and virtually.
- Volunteer management and/or supervisory experience.
- Position requires valid driver's license, ability to pass TSA MVR check, and reliable transportation.
- Must be a team player, self-starter, able to handle several projects at the same time and perform well with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrate ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment. Ability to work successfully under pressure and deadlines especially during the Tree of Lights campaign. Able to work additional hours as needed (e. during the Tree of Lights campaign).

Travel: Requires some travel.
