The Junior Procurement Specialist supports the purchasing department by assisting with supplier coordination, purchase order processing, and vendor onboarding. This role focuses on smaller-scale procurement activities, including spot buys, identifying best-cost options, managing promotional item purchases, and supporting routine sourcing initiatives.

Responsibilities of Position:



  • Assist with creating and processing purchase orders in line with company policies
  • Support Procurement Specialist, Senior Purchasing Agent, Purchasing Supervisor, and Purchasing Manager with sourcing, vendor communication, and price comparisons
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, and supplier data
  • Coordinate with internal departments regarding any project they may need assistance with
  • Support end- to end sourcing projects for a variety of products and services
  • Support the Ariba vendor onboarding program, review that the requests coming through are detailed and includes the appropriate credentials for onboarding
  • Process SAP invoices for the department including those of Corporate Fleet and Parts
  • Manage the requests for new hires who require access to the various webstores
  • Ability to assist new hires via Teams or in person with the various applications such as webstores, SAP, and Ariba
  • Help evaluate supplier performance (pricing, quality, delivery)
  • Support cost-saving and efficiency initiatives within the buying function
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Supervisory Responsibility:



  • This position will not manage employees

Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position:



  • 2 years of experience in purchasing
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of procurement and inventory principles
  • Proficient in SAP and Ariba



Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday:



  • Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 20 lbs
  • Rarely working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions
  • Rarely working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter
  • Frequently sitting
  • Occasionally standing/walking



Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:



  • Ability to travel between offices, as required
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable)
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language
