STS Technical Services is hiring an Aircraft Maintenance Manager in Miami, Florida to oversee line maintenance operations and ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance of company aircraft across assigned stations and geographic areas.

This leadership role is responsible for supervising maintenance personnel, coordinating operational resources, and maintaining close communication with flight operations, maintenance control, and planning teams. The Aircraft Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in maintaining aircraft reliability, managing AOG situations, and ensuring maintenance activities meet all regulatory and company standards.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise Technical Representatives and Line Maintenance Supervisors as assigned
  • Coordinate personnel schedules to ensure adequate manpower coverage for aircraft maintenance operations
  • Ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of aircraft in accordance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Manage, coordinate, and provide oversight for contract line maintenance within assigned stations or geographic areas
  • Ensure personnel are properly trained and qualified in accordance with GMM policies and procedures
  • Monitor training status, qualifications, and proficiency levels of maintenance personnel
  • Monitor flight schedules and fleet status to ensure efficient use of resources, aircraft routing, and available ground time
  • Coordinate line maintenance requirements with Maintenance Control, Workload Planning, Materials, Quality Control, and Aircraft Planning departments
  • Maintain surveillance of line maintenance activities at assigned stations or geographic areas
  • Provide resources and technical support during major mechanical events or AOG situations
  • Identify recurring mechanical issues and recommend procedural improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency
  • Coordinate the timely repair of deferred maintenance items for aircraft transiting assigned stations
  • Ensure shift turnover and work interruption procedures are followed to guarantee incomplete maintenance tasks are resolved before aircraft return to service
  • Ensure timely and accurate return of aircraft maintenance log pages to headquarters
  • Coordinate maintenance status and aircraft condition updates with Maintenance Control
  • Monitor aircraft and powerplant performance including repeat items and oil watch programs
  • Develop corrective action plans for mechanical issues and deferred maintenance items in coordination with Maintenance Control
  • Maintain communication with the Regional Manager to support cost-effective operations
  • Ensure discrepancies and parts changes are accurately entered into TRAX
  • Ensure maintenance personnel are trained in the use of the TRAX maintenance tracking system
  • Monitor line station spare engine status and engine change kits
  • Maintain close coordination with Ground Operations and Flight Operations to support safe and dependable aircraft operations
  • Enforce safety procedures outlined in company manuals and industry standards
  • Perform duties at field locations away from the home base when required
  • Fly on company aircraft when assigned to support global aircraft operations
  • Conduct self-audits of assigned stations or geographic areas as required
  • Develop and manage station or geographic area maintenance budgets
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Current and valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings
  • Minimum of seven years of aircraft maintenance experience
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in an aviation maintenance environment
  • Must maintain Atlas Air qualification and authorization for Airworthiness Release
  • Experience working on Boeing 747 or 767 aircraft, or equivalent wide-body aircraft, preferred
  • Ability to travel as needed to support business operations
