STS Technical Services is hiring Electromechanical Technicians in Marion, North Carolina to support advanced automated logistics systems used throughout the food and beverage industry. This is a hands-on technical role working directly at a customer facility where equipment reliability, system uptime, and technical problem solving are critical to daily operations.

Our client is a global leader in automated logistics and material handling solutions. In this position, you will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing automated systems through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and ongoing system improvements. This is a customer-facing role that requires strong technical skills, clear communication, and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues.


Key Responsibilities

Maintenance and Troubleshooting



  • Ensure equipment efficiency by conducting scheduled inspections and interval-based maintenance activities
  • Perform corrective maintenance and troubleshooting to resolve equipment failures and restore functionality
  • Carry out preventive maintenance activities according to established maintenance plans

Customer Support and Communication



  • Report completed maintenance activities, system performance updates, and technical findings to both the customer and client
  • Participate in periodic meetings with customer representatives to review system performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Provide on-the-job training to customer personnel on equipment operation and minor maintenance procedures

Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving



  • Identify and report technical issues, anomalies, and system irregularities to support corrective action and long-term solutions
  • Recommend and support improvement projects, system modifications, and equipment enhancements that increase reliability and efficiency

Spare Parts and Workshop Management



  • Manage onsite spare parts inventory including monitoring stock levels and recommending reorder points
  • Organize and maintain the onsite maintenance workspace, tools, and equipment provided by the client and customer

Technical Requirements

  • Technical Diploma in Electromechanics, Industrial Automation, or a related field
  • Proven experience as an Electromechanical Technician, Field Service Technician, Electrician, Automation Technician, or similar role within an industrial or plant environment
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics and drawings
  • Working knowledge of PLC platforms is a plus including Siemens, Beckhoff, Fanuc, Allen-Bradley, or Rockwell
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
