Job Description: Airbus is looking for a Mechanics Lead, 2nd Shift. Meet the team: The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities help assemble the finest aircraft in the world, along two (soon to be three) production lines for the A220 and A320 Family aircraft. On the shop floor you'll be surrounded by individuals who are passionate about aviation and skilled in areas like electrical, structure and quality. Join our team and help build the next generation of aircraft. Your working environment: Nearby on 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus' strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond. Assists the Station LCS003 Supervisor in providing an orderly flow of task according to the schedule. Achieves this by assigning work, securing materials and tools, reporting and monitoring production quality and output. Activities are limited to a specific function or area.
Your challenges:
- Assumes all routine Station responsibilities of the group manager/supervisor in the manager's or Supervisor's absence.
Troubleshoots Station LCS003 issues and secures necessary assistance to resolve them. Reviews production schedule and assigns work to facilitate completion of tasks and Aircraft movement in accordance with established schedule Establishes an orderly flow of work. Keeps station performance records and monitors for accuracy of reporting, such as, work orders, SOI, KPIs. Maintains level of supplies in selected areas. In conjunction with Quality monitors line quality and notify personnel of deviations. Is an advocate for LEAN within group; encourages LEAN thinking and supports and assists in the implementation of LEAN initiatives/KAIZENS. May be responsible for coordinating activities with contractors. May fill in for absent Operators and Supervisor as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned.

Mandatory knowledge of processes being used in the area of responsibility. Strong and strict application of the FOD and Tool Control specification. Strong organizational skills Strong critical thinking skills Quality and Safety specifically applied to Station LCS003 activities. Requires ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form with internal and external customers.
Special Qualifications::
Qualified for Station LCS003, FPS and other support equipment required on the station. Must be able to use Google Suite, HMS, MES, Aircraft Progress, T-Card Board and SQCDP. Must possess a minimum of 5 years aviation experience Demonstrated prior leadership experience, or have recommendation of current station Supervisor Must have Station LCS003 specific training, or recommendation of current station Supervisor

Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings. Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals. Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification. Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment. Working on jigs at the fuselage at a height of 15 feet. Able to work on hydraulic lifts sometimes at a height of up to 40 feet. Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 55lbs/25kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects. Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 55lbs/25kg. Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas. Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer and in meetings. Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves. Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information. Travel: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time. Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight lines and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
