Tesla is pioneering sustainable energy solutions through electric vehicles and advanced manufacturing. Our expansive campuses require meticulous outdoor care to ensure safety, beauty, and environmental harmony. Join us in a role that combines creative gardening with practical groundskeeping to support our mission of a sustainable future.

What You'll Do
  • Perform comprehensive gardening and grounds maintenance duties, including planting, pruning, weeding, lawn care, shrub/tree/flower bed management, with strong emphasis on native, drought-resistant species to support biodiversity and water conservation
  • Conduct regular debris and litter cleanup across buildings, parking areas, walkways, and site perimeters using tools such as blowers, rakes, and collection equipment
  • Maintain grounds appearance and health through mowing, edging, mulching, and application of eco-friendly treatments for soil vitality, pest management, and erosion control
  • Safely operate and maintain low-emission equipment including electric mowers, trimmers, pressure washers, utility vehicles, and small trailers, in alignment with Tesla's clean energy and sustainability priorities
  • Proactively identify and address safety hazards (spills, blockages, overgrowth) while performing seasonal tasks such as snow/ice removal, storm cleanup, and other emergency response activities
  • Collaborate with facilities, engineering, and site teams to coordinate grounds work with EV charging infrastructure, solar arrays, and green initiatives (e.g., composting programs, pollinator gardens)
  • Ensure full compliance with environmental regulations, waste disposal protocols, and safety standards; document completed work, report issues, and recommend improvements to enhance campus aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability

What You'll Bring
  • Certifications in horticulture, landscaping, or grounds management (e.g., from the National Association of Landscape Professionals) highly desirable
  • Minimum 2 years of combined hands-on experience in gardening, landscaping, debris removal, or facilities maintenance, ideally in a corporate or industrial environment
  • Physically capable of demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions, including lifting up to 50 lbs, prolonged standing, and repetitive tasks
  • Valid driver's license required; preferred experience towing small trailers and operating light trucks, utility vehicles, or similar equipment for material and debris transport
  • Strong knowledge of sustainable landscaping practices, including organic pest management, water-efficient techniques, recycling, and eco-friendly maintenance methods
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced setting, plus familiarity with OSHA safety standards and alignment with Tesla's innovative, sustainability-focused culture
  • Full-time availability with flexibility for weekends, early mornings, on-call duties during peak seasons or weather events; proficiency with electric/battery-powered tools preferred, along with basic understanding of irrigation systems, waste sorting, landscape design tools, or enthusiasm for integrating smart technology (e.g., soil sensors, automated systems)
