We're seeking an exceptional Data Analyst to join the Field Reliability Data Team, where you'll analyze millions of repair records from service and vehicle data to uncover field failure insights. You'll perform advanced analytics, develop reports and dashboards, and collaborate on data infrastructure to empower cross-functional teams in making efficient, data-driven decisions that enhance vehicle quality and customer experience. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with large datasets, engineering data for key metrics, and creating innovative visualizations-while identifying opportunities to improve underlying systems. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity to shape Tesla's data infrastructure and analytics from the ground up.
What You'll Do
- Analyze service and vehicle data to extract statistics and insights on field failures, driving improvements in vehicle quality and customer experience
- Collaborate with vehicle quality and design engineers on end-to-end analyses, from gathering data requirements to processing, visualization, and trend identification
- Develop data tools and reports to support global regulatory reporting, recall activities, and time-sensitive safety investigations, including creating responsive vehicle lists and fleet datasets
- Perform statistical analysis to quantify reliability risks, monitor key product metrics, and interpret patterns in complex datasets via dashboards and reports
- Acquire, maintain and enhance data from primary or secondary sources, including databases, visualizations, pipelines and dashboards to support exploratory analysis
- Automate analyses and ETL pipelines using SQL, Python with Pandas
- Drive data system improvements by partnering with cross-functional stakeholders
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 1-2 years of work experience in data analytics or engineering related fields
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience with various data architectures
- Proficiency in Python, especially in a data analytics/science capacity where pandas is used heavily
- Proficient in data visualization techniques and tools using Tableau, Matplotlib, Plotly etc.
- Strong analytical and communication skills to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information accurately under pressure; ability to manage competing demands with tight deadlines, collaborate independently with stakeholders to translate business challenges into data projects, and a passion for data-driven decision-making
- Working knowledge of reliability statistics (e.g., Weibull Analysis) and advanced techniques like data warehousing, time-series analysis, predictive analytics, text mining or AI/ML concepts for tasks like text analysis is a plus
- Candidates with a GitHub profile or personal project portfolio will be given priority in screening
- Experience in manufacturing, service operations, or the automotive industry

Expected Compensation
$69,600 - $138,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
