Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Senior Metallurgist to lead advanced testing and metallurgical analysis projects in a laboratory environment, drive technical capability development and serve as a subject-matter expert supporting both laboratory operations and customer needs.

Salary: $80,000.00 - $125,000.00/yr DOE



Responsibilities

    Lead and perform complex metallurgical testing projects, analyze test data, interpret results, and ensure accurate release of test data and reports.

  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders such as internal teams and/or customers on a timely basis.

  • Assist in the development, refinement, and validation of testing methods, protocols, and process standards.

  • Provide subject matter expertise in one or more metallurgical disciplines,

  • Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and provide expert technical consultation to teams and customers.

  • Support business development with technical insight and operations by identifying improvement and best-practice adoption to provide improved customer service.

  • Mentor and coach junior engineers and technicians; actively share technical knowledge across the organization.



Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Metallurgical, Materials, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant postdegree engineering experience.
  • Deep understanding of metallurgical principles, advanced testing methodologies, and data interpretation.
  • Experience with interpretation of industry consensus standards is required
  • Proven ability to independently perform complex testing and make highimpact technical decisions.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problemsolving abilities, including work with ambiguous or limited datasets.
