Welder 1 (Platform Assembly) | Royal Truck Body | Carson, CA

Regular Employee | Hourly Non-Exempt | $22.00 - 23.00

What you'll do:

The Welder position is responsible for welding
various materials associated with the company's product lines including, but
not limited to, truck bodies, chassis, and specialty vehicles.

• Master all duties related to Entry-Level welder.
• Should be able to work on larger sub-assemblies. (ex. Floor or sides)
• Should be accustomed to working with electro galvanized material (10 GA to 18 GA).
• Ability to read and interpret complicated blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Responsible for collecting and recording all the blueprints provided.
• Should be accustomed to machines such as Plasma cutter, oxy- acetylene cutter.
• Should be able identify flaws in welds or structural imperfections in the metal.
• May climb ladders or work on scaffolds to assemble or disassemble structures.

What you need to be successful:

• Display proficiency in hand tools such as rivet guns, electric tools, pressure gauges, etc.)
• Ability to understand measurement on tape measure to 1/64'
• Knowledge of sheet metal (gauges)
• HS Diploma or GED required
• AWS Certification preferred
• Excellent attendance
• Positive attitude
• Strong and consistent attention to detail
• Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task
• Team oriented
• Must understand AWS welding symbols
• Must be able to set up, adjust, and maintain welding machines

Willing to:
Learn and rotate within various weld areas
Wear PPE respirators for an extended amount of time
Improve self/area/company (including pursuing additional training, if needed)
Able to work overtime on short notice.
