What to Expect
Tesla is committed to having industry-leading uptime and service for our deployed fleet of residential, commercial, and industrial utility scale solar, storage and charging systems. Commercial Service Operations Team is responsible for proactively monitoring the solar, storage and charging fleets for contractual compliance, operational challenges and ensure Service is delivered to our customers successfully.

As a Data Analyst on the Commercial Business Operations team, you will have end-to-end ownership of data analytics projects related to (1) tracking successful delivery of our contractual obligations, (2) automating the required analysis to ensure compliance across the fleet and (3) improving the existing code base to ensure scalability and reliability of the data for decision making and process improvements. You will execute on all aspects of the project, i.e., those involving review of contracts and ticket system data, as well as those involving scripting and database management.

The ideal candidate would enjoy solving problems using data, have relentless curiosity, not be afraid to solve cross-functional problems and have a strong sense of ownership.


What You'll Do
  • Develop reports and visualizations to support business intelligence and reporting, data warehousing, and integration with enterprise applications
  • Develop models to track performance of Energy Products relative to their contractual obligations, project milestones and product lifecycles
  • Work closely with the subject matter experts to define and develop key performance indicators, measuring system performance and service outcomes
  • Develop and own user-centric data analytical dashboards displaying above metrics and seek continuous feedback from users to find areas of improvement
  • Conduct ad-hoc quantitative analyses to solve complex problems; formulate and refine hypotheses with stakeholders, collect and manipulate data, and draw compelling, actionable conclusions
  • Test and validate results to ensure accuracy and present results to the team and broader Energy Service organization

What You'll Bring
  • Evidence of exceptional ability, especially in navigating ambiguous environments
  • Proficient with SQL, Python, ticketing systems (Jira) and version control (Git)
  • 2-5 years of experience in data-intensive roles
  • Highly collaborative, team oriented, and comfortable driving tangible impact / influence on cross-functional projects, especially those consisting of both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts at a detailed level and synthesize implications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when engaging with senior business leaders
  • A passion for sustainable energy

    Expected Compensation
    $69,600 - $168,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
