Hanger is seeking a Scrum Master III to support a cross functional product or platform team in delivering secure, high impact software, data, and business capabilities. You'll facilitate agile ceremonies, help improve team flow and predictability, and support alignment to team goals and OKRs. You'll work closely with Product and Engineering partners to remove impediments, reinforce quality and compliance practices, and help the team deliver consistent outcomes.



Your Impact

    Team level coaching: Support engineers and Product Owners in applying Scrum or Kanban practices effectively; reinforce foundational agile behaviors.
  • Facilitate ceremonies: Lead team ceremonies (planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives) and support communication around cross team dependencies that impact delivery.
  • Support planning: Assist Product and Engineering with sprint planning, capacity awareness, roadmap visibility, and team-level release coordination.
  • Remove blockers: Identify impediments within the team's workflow and collaborate with partners to drive resolution or escalation.
  • Maintain visibility: Keep team dashboards (e.g., cycle time, throughput, WIP, defect trends) updated to support transparency and improvement.
  • Reinforce flow & quality: Promote lean practices such as WIP limits, work slicing, definition of ready/done, and support adoption of CI/CD and automation practices.
  • Support compliance: Reinforce team behaviors that safeguard PHI/PII and align with HIPAA and company policies.
  • Enable continuous improvement: Help facilitate team retrospectives, implement improvement actions, and contribute inputs to shared agile playbooks.
  • Communicate clearly: Provide concise updates on delivery progress, risks, and issues to partners using data and customer impact.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-5+ years as a Scrum Master or Agile Practitioner with software/data delivery teams.
  • Experience in regulated or healthcare environments preferred; comfort with PHI/PII helpful.
  • Certifications such as PSM I/II or CSM (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated experience improving basic team flow metrics (e.g., cycle time, throughput).
  • Nice to Have - Experience
    • Experience in healthcare, payer/provider, medical devices, or other regulated industries.
  • Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver's license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.


Additional Success Factors

  • Experience improving team predictability and flow (e.g., reducing cycle time, improving throughput consistency).
  • Strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills within the team.
  • Proficiency with Jira/Confluence for team level reporting and visibility.
  • Working knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and trunk based development concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with security and compliance expectations for regulated environments.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently on day to day responsibilities but seek guidance on complex issues.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Nice to Have - Skills
    • Exposure to data platforms/analytics, ERP/EMR integrations, or supply chain systems.
    • Experience participating in agile communities of practice
    • Familiarity with scaled frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, Scrum@Scale).
