Description

Operating within the Enterprise Data Governance program and under the direction of the Chief Data Officer (CDO), the Data Governance Engineer supports the development and implementation of industry standard best practices, policies, and processes that ensure enterprise data is accurate, secure, compliant, and trusted.
This role partners with business leaders, technology teams, information security, legal, and compliance to improve data quality, transparency, and accountability across the organization. The position combines governance operations, metadata management, and technical support for governance platforms and processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

Data Governance Program Support
* Assist in implementing and maintaining the enterprise Data Governance framework, policies, and standards.
* Coordinate governance processes with information security, legal, risk, and compliance teams.
* Support data owners and data stewards across business domains.
* Help define and implement data governance operating procedures and best practices.
* Process MFT/SFTP requests and documentation review for the Data Governance workflow steps.

Metadata & Data Catalog Management
* Configure and maintain the organization's enterprise data catalog and metadata repositories.
* Support data lineage documentation, metadata ingestion, glossary development, and business term management.
* Maintain data dictionaries, classifications, and metadata documentation across structured and unstructured data assets.

Data Quality & Monitoring
* Support initiatives that improve enterprise data quality and reliability.
* Develop data quality rules, monitoring processes, and governance KPIs.
* Partner with stakeholders, data stewards, and DBAs to identify and resolve data quality issues impacting reporting or operations.

Compliance & Data Privacy
* Support regulatory and compliance activities related to data governance and data privacy requirements.
* Assist the Data Governance Privacy Analyst with DSAR processes and data classification activities when required.
* Ensure governance practices align with internal policy and regulatory obligations.

Technical Governance Operations
* Support governance tools and related technologies used for metadata management, data cataloging, and governance automation, including Informatica and Microsoft Purview.
* Assist with metadata extraction, SQL-based reporting for data catalog objects, and configuration of governance system(s).
* Maintain governance workflows through ticketing systems and operational support processes.
* Support AI use cases within the governance platforms.

Governance Communication & Reporting
* Develop documentation, training materials, and visual resources that communicate governance practices.
* Assist in promoting governance adoption across the organization.
* Support the development of governance metrics and reporting for leadership and program oversight.
* Assist with the rollout and change management processes for governance platforms.

Experience Requirements

* 3 - 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, analytics, data engineering, or related disciplines.
* 3 - 5 years of experience developing and integrating APIs across multiple system; SQL, C#, and Python for scripting required.
* 3- 5 years of experience automating the rotation of service account passwords using tools like UiPath, ensuring synchronization with password vaults and Informatica's CAI maintain compliance with company policy.
* Working knowledge of data governance frameworks, processes, and operating models.
* Advanced SQL and ETL process experience.
* Familiarity with data catalog platforms, metadata management, or governance tooling.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively across technical and business teams.
* Experience working with enterprise data governance platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Microsoft Purview, Alation, or similar).
* Familiarity with data lineage, metadata management, and data classification frameworks.
* Experience supporting data quality initiatives and governance reporting.

Educational Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Data Management, Computer Science, or a related field
* Equivalent experience in Records and Information Management (RIM), Information Management (IM), or Information Governance (IG) may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Professional Development/Certifications

Currently certified or strong interest in pursuing data management or information governance professional certifications, such as:
* Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
* Data Governance & Stewardship Professional (DGSP)
* Certified Data Professional (CDP)
* Information Governance Professional (IGP)
* Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP)
* Information Governance Professional (IGP)
* Certified Records Manager (CRM)
* Certified information Governance Officer (CIGO)
* Data Governance & Information Quality (DGIQ)
* NARA Certificate of Records Administration (NCCP)

Location: This is an on-site position in Oklahoma City on our corporate campus.
Relocation: Not available - candidates must currently reside in the Oklahoma City area.
