Position Summary

The Director of Capture Management is a senior growth leader responsible for driving disciplined, high-impact capture strategies across large, complex Defense pursuits. Unlike a player-coach role, this position is not responsible for holding individual captures, but instead for leading, developing, and enabling a team of Capture Managers. This leader provides strategic oversight, capture governance, competitive insight, and executive guidance from early shaping through proposal submission.



Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

Leadership & Team Development
    Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Capture Managers, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Establish and enforce standards for capture discipline, rigor, and quality across the full pursuit lifecycle.
  • Provide strategic coaching on competitive positioning, customer insight, teaming strategy, and solution shaping.
  • Introduce innovative capture methodologies, tools, and best practices that elevate functional performance.
Capture Management Execution
  • Oversee end-to-end execution of major captures through governance, not individual ownership.
  • Ensure Capture Managers execute against consistent processes aligned to corporate priorities.
  • Guide early shaping activities including customer engagement strategies and win-theme development.
Strategic Growth & Market Alignment
  • Ensure capture activities align with enterprise strategy and market trends.
  • Identify emerging mission needs and competitive shifts requiring early shaping.
  • Support development of differentiated solutions and teaming strategies.
Collaboration & Internal Alignment
  • Partner with BD, Operations, Proposals, Marketing and Technology Center to ensure seamless pursuit progression.
  • Contribute to maturing BD and Capture processes for Full & Open competition.


Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Ability to achieve TS/SCI

Education:

Years of Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in Capture, BD, Program Management, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated leadership of Capture Managers or capture teams.
  • Deep understanding of DoD acquisition processes and competitive dynamics.

Certifications:

Preferred Qualifications

Clearance: TS/SCI

Education: Bachelor's or higher degree in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience and success record

Years of experience:

  • Experience leading major Defense program captures.
  • Experience in digital modernization, cyber, engineering, or mission support solutions.
  • Experience supporting transition from Small Business to Full & Open competition.

Technical Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in Capture, BD, Program Management, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated leadership of Capture Managers or capture teams.
  • Deep understanding of DoD acquisition processes and competitive dynamics
