Location: Parker Aerospace Group - DSD-Irvine, CA
Duration of Internship: 6 - 12 months

We are seeking candidates for the following positions - LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY:

Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will assist Manufacturing department with the implementation of metrics reporting and overall process improvement. Assist in revising and creating process plans, standard work and other process documentation items. Assist with measuring set up times of machining, assembly and test operations.

  • Strong computer and writing skills required.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD and knowledge of manufacturing desired.
  • "Hands on" skills encouraged.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate to management, peers, co-workers and outside agencies.
  • Prefer experience with hydraulics and tool design.
  • Prefer training or education in lean manufacturing.

Qualifications:

Education: Current student in a local college or university (must be enrolled) toward BS degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering .

  • Must have completed two years of courses; three years preferred.
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.


  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting working towards group goals.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week during the academic year.
  • Full-time availability (up to 40 hours) during the summer.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
